Paddy’s Marten Inn has been built upon word of mouth publicity and recommendations. As a result of continuous delivery, determination to go that extra mile for our customers and always setting our standard so as to raise the bar.
Below is what some of our valued customers had to say about us:
“Absolutely fantastic - one of the best”
Excellent food and service, one of the best, if not THE best Curry I have ever had. Pleasant surroundings and a good atmosphere add to a great experience. Will go back to eat here again. Good value for money.

My husband's family are Indian so we go for a lot of curry and this is far and away the best place to eat. All food is freshly cooked, none of it's floating in oil like you get in many indian restaurants. From the outside you'd be brave to enter (in a dodgy looking pub on a dark back street) but the food and atmosphere soon mean you forget your surroundings. Paddy & his family are excellent hosts. The menu is great, Jinga Masta prawns are especially good (as a main rather than a starter) and there's a great range of vegetarian curries. I would highly recommend this place (the review has it called the Martin, it's actually the Marten which might help you find it) to anyone who wants an authentic curry at a reasonable price. Beer's good too and they also now do non-alcholic cobra for the drivers!

We have been going for many years now and go at least once a month, everybody we have recommended this estalblishment to they have always come back with plenty good things to say! The staff are welcoming and are very good company they dont skimp on the meals and they are attentive to your requirements. Great value for money! If you like indian food then dont be afraid to try something new the martin inn is the place to go!

If you want a great curry (or try the tandoori sizzler) this is thoroughly recommended.we are talking basic pub decor here dont use it for impressing the ladies... In short leicester's best kept secret until now.

Without question, the most FUN and enjoyable restaurant in Leicester by some distance. Ok..the interior..no frills, cafe type tables and retro old photos of bollywood stars and TVs for sports/music videos. Clean and Kitsch...no frills, and dodgy looking location in an unlit back street...BUT The reception is warm and friendly, the hosts are extremely personable and polite and orders taken with speed AND accuracy, nothing is too much trouble and any problems are ALWAYS resolved the way the customer wants. The Food: as a vegetarian, there are extensive choices...the signature dishes are somewhat anonymous amongst more basic fare like samosas etc..they should bang a loud drum about what they do best! That said, the starters were fresh, extremely tasty, very moorsih and come with an ensemble of condiments. The mains come with rice and naan ( they let me switch the rice for an extra naan) and are simply DELICIOUS. The service is so good, it's 'invisible'..the attitude of the front of house is warm and friendly and utterly welcoming. This is not the sort of place where you will EVER experience either bad food or bad service. Modest folks producing Indian food that beats hands down anything I have ever tasted...and the service with a smile makes sure you have a dining experience that is simply fantastic. I will come back here again, and again and again and again.

“Great food/atmosphere. Their menu...”
Great food/atmosphere. Their menu includes a nan and rice per curry ordered - don't let that put you off as you get good portions and quality food. Good selection of Draught Beers with the addition of token Indian branded beers - worth a taste. Best to book a table in advance to avoid disappointment.

Eaten here a few times now, and its great.
Environment: This is basically a pub + restaurant, however its not full of modern decor, its like something from back in the 80’s. Which is fantastic. I love the dark wooden tables with signs of age (and usage), and the chairs with hard wooden backs. The walls are covered in pictures from classic (60’s - 90’s) Indian movies, and B4U Music is alays playing on the flatscreen tv. Its not a large resturant, and as such, when its busy its has a real buzz about it.
Food: Top Class. Resonably priced (expect £20 a person for several Cobras a starter and a main). The Prawn starter is pretty pricy (5 for £10) however they are to die for, as are the Jeera Wings. The food is cooked to a quality completly unlike any other indian restaurant i’ve ever been too. Not oily, not short on meat (or veg) and always full on taste. Service: Relaxed, friendly staff.

Best Indian Food in Leicester
Fantastic food and atmosphere 'Paddy' the landlord is a star. The best 'Indian' food money can buy, the mixed sizzler starter is mouthwatering, so tasty and the quality of the meat is second to none. Cobra ice cold, what more do you want and its not at restaurant prices! eat yourself daft for about £12. Don't try and 'walk in' on a Thursday Friday Saturday you won't get a seat, try it out early in the week. You'll be back and back and back again beleive me it's that good.
